The Station is a man-made structure dating back to the Terran Mandate. It has had relatively little contact with the rest of the sector until it's rediscovery by the MSR in 3199. Inhabitants of the Station are referred to as "Stationers" and are almost entirely of the human race.

Structure
The Station consists of two large rinds, supported by a central core structure. The two rings are used at environmental spheres for agriculture, biosystem balance, and relaxation. All rings have a mixture of hydroponic agriculture, residential and commercial housing, and support systems. The lower sector has docks that house the Station Fleet: fifteen strike fighters and three shuttles. The rings contain many redundant systems that decrease the chance of a catastrophic cascade upon occasionally malfunction.
The rings are supported by a central Core, which provides power to the station via nuclear fusion. The occasional materials needed to sustain the reaction are harvested from the nearby brown dwarf.
It has been self-sustaining for over 500 years. Records on Station operation have been kept continuously since it's founding pre-Scream as an experimental deep-space research station in the Terran Mandate. Everything on the Station is recycled continuously, and the population is highly educated to maintain the environmental balance within.
Ecology
Many plant, animal, fungi, and bacteria populations on the Station were engineered specifically for it's growth and management. Many, while likely derivative of the Sol System biosphere, are not found anywhere else in the sector. Several valuable crops, such as coffee variants, chickpeas, and safflower, that were considered lost after the Scream, are cultivated on the Station. The Station is also known for its cultivation of large isopods, used for both waste reclamation and as a protein source.
Though generally considered isolated, the Station has occasional trade with nephrops (known as "Scampi" to Stationers) and occasional interactions with the newly discovered mustalid race. Neither alien race has a presence on the Station besides this trade. The mustalids are generally considered hostile by Station governance due to continued pirating and aggression towards nephrop traders.
History
The Station has existed as a self-sustaining entity pre-Scream, founded in it's current form in 2650. It's lack of psychics prevented a large impact from the event itself, though Stationers believe it strongly impacted technology development. Incredibly detailed records have been devoutly kept throughout the Station's entire history, in a method that is closely guarded by Stationers.
CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION: REQUEST PERMISSION TO CONTINUE
This recording technology is called the Imago machine, and is generally given to Stationers upon reaching the age of majority. The machine is smaller than a fingernail and records the entire life of the individual, and retains such information once it is removed and re-implanted into another person. The number of these machines is limited. The Stationers encountered nephrop ships in 2809. After several peaceful meetings, trade was initiated for rare metals needed to repair Station systems in exchange for biosphere knowledge. This trade has continued since. Shortly after encountering the nephrops, the Station was first contacted by the mustalids in 2814. Most interactions have been confrontations between mustalid forces and nephrops forces, with occasional piracy of Station strike fighters or shuttles.
The Station was rediscovered by a small fleet of MSR spike explorers in 3199. Diplomatic relations with the MSR are currently cordial, with diplomats on both sides negotiating ongoing trade and territory agreements.
Ongoing Events
Venoa's population experienced a large boom following the reestablishment of interstellar trade. The government of the planet is a subset of the MSR itself, and is generally between Plo, Plave, Lido, Sandolo, and Reeve to accommodate the needs of both moons, the continent, and the underwater cities. Every zaibatsu within the MSR has a permenant office on the planet or associated moons. Following the volcanic disaster in 3188 and subsequent rebellion, Poveglia is considered a different branch of the MSR than the other governments of Venoa.
